

Jane Westergaard is an experienced and highly qualified educator, counsellor and supervisor.
With over 20 years’ experience as a lecturer in Higher Education and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Jane has a significant profile as an academic, researcher and author, both nationally and internationally. She has published books and academic papers on the subjects of counselling and supervision – particularly in the education context. And she has been invited as a key note speaker at conferences in London, Australia and Denmark.
Jane’s particular area of interest and expertise is focused on counselling and supervision. She is a UKRC registered counsellor with over 20 years’ experience of counselling individual clients and couples.
Jane is currently employed as an external supervisor in schools in Kent and London, working with head teachers, senior leadership teams, learning mentors, pastoral support staff and others who have responsibility for developing the lives of children and young people and ensuring that they are protected and safeguarded.
Until recently, Jane was the Programme Director for the BA (Hons) Counselling, Coaching and Mentoring programme at Canterbury Christ Church University. She continues to engage with teaching and learning on a consultancy basis, delivering training to organisations in London and the South East.
Jane offers a range of consultancy and training services ranging from one to one counselling to facilitating training tailored to the needs of your organisation.
